The Patriots last weekend began a long homestand by hosting three opponents in three days. On the men's side, they looked nothing short of dominant, allowing their opponents to take three total points over the matches on their way to a 3-0 weekend that included a 4-1 win over #23 Ouachita Baptist.

On the women's side, they battled in each match, taking on a pair of opponents in the Receiving Votes category of the ITA rankings. The Patriots pushed all three opponents to the brink, but came away 0-3 for the weekend.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Joaquin Bianchi picked up his first LSC Player of the Week honors for the year on Wednesday as he looked strong over the weekend for the Patriots. He went a combined 5-1 in his matches, going a perfect 3-0 in his singles matches in line #1. For Bianchi, it is his third all-time LSC Player of the Week honor, matching one from each of the last two seasons.

UT Tyler men's tennis continues to garner national attention, as they slotted into the #12 spot in the ITA Rankings for the second consecutive poll. The Patriots began the season #9 overall, and have played to a record of 4-1 on the year.

THIS WEEK'S SLATE

This weekend will see the Patriots host a multitude of ranked opponents in what is sure to be a stellar weekend at the Summers Tennis Center.

First on deck is West Florida on Friday at 10 a.m., who is ranked #7 on the men's side of their program. Their men's team is 2-3 on the year, with wins over #8 Wayne State and #13 Lee, with losses to #3 Saint Leo, #1 Valdosta State, and #17 Mississippi College. Thus far, the Argonauts are led by Diego Duran, who is 4-0 in singles on the year. He has also paired with Albin Akenros in doubles to a 3-1 record.

For the women's side, West Florida is 2-1 with wins over Lee and #24 Mississippi College. They are led by Luiza Daud in singles and doubles, as she has combined with Nathalia Mossambani in the #3 line.

The second opponent the Patriots face will be West Alabama, who is ranked #23 on the men's side and #3 on the women's side. For their men's team, they are 1-2 on the year with a win over Shorter in their most recent match. In singles, the Tigers are led by Wilson Igbinovia, who is 2-1 on the year in line #2. In doubles, it is also Igbinovia, who pairs up with Lucas Hammond for a 1-0 record in line #1.

On the women's side for the Tigers, they are 4-3 on the year and are coming off of a third place finish at the ITA Indoor National Championships. They have taken down #4 Flager, #5 Saint Leo, and #20 Auburn Montgomery on the year. Khim Iglupas leads the way, sporting a perfect 4-0 record in #1 singles thus far. In doubles, Shaira Rivera and Hardija Vidnere are a perfect 6-0 in their matches in #1 doubles.

Rounding out the weekend for the Patriots will be a matchup with Auburn Montgomery. The men's side of the Warhawks is ranked #19 and is 4-2 on the year. They are winners of two of their last three matches. They are led by Adrian Contreras in singles, who is 4-1 on the year in line #3. In doubles, Contreras pairs with Titouan Le Maout, and they combine for a 3-0 record in line #2.

The women's side of the Warhawks are also ranked #19, and they are 5-3 on the year and also winners of two of their last three matches. The leader for their program in singles is Ana Villalvazo, who is 7-0 in her singles matches and is 6-0 at line #3. In doubles, Ane Ibarra and Estefania Garcia combine for a 5-2 record, all at line #1.
