TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler wrapped up a strong weekend at the Tyler Invite Saturday, collecting mutliple flight championships while competing in both singles and doubles finals to close out three days of action.

In men's doubles, Arthur Schmitkel and Manuel Lassacher captured the Flight 2 West Final with a 9-7 victory over Lubbock Christian.

The women's team added two Flight championships Saturday. Paula Castellanos and Carla Rodier claimed the Flight 2 East title with an 8-5 victory over Mississippi College, capping a strong run that included wins over Ouachita Baptist and Mississippi College during Friday's action.

Yona Bancarel also took home a Flight 1 championship in women's singles, defeating Mississippi College 6-2, 6-1 in the East Final. Bancarel went unbeaten in singles throughout the tournament, battling through a three-set victory in the opening round before earning straight-set wins in the semifinal and final.

Hailey Zhang also reached the Flight 3 East Final after advancing through Thursday and Friday's singles action. Zhang battled Ouachita Baptist in the championship match, falling in a third-set tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-3, 6-10.

The Patriots finished the Tyler Invite with a strong showing across both singles and doubles competition. The Patriots ultimately claimed three flight championships Saturday, with Bancarel winning the Flight 1 women's singles title, Castellanos and Rodier taking the Flight 2 women's doubles championship and Schmitkel and Lassacher capturing the Flight 2 men's doubles West title.
