Box Score 2 WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS – UT Tyler wrapped up their weekend on Sunday as Washburn took both men's and women's matches over the Patriots.
The women were on deck first, taking on the #5 ranked Ichabods. In their doubles contests, the Ichabods got on a roll early, taking a pair of 6-1 wins in line #2 and #3 to move ahead to singles contests with a 1-0 lead.
Over in those singles matches, the Ichabods kept their roll, as they took a straight sets win of 6-0, 6-1 in line #4 to move ahead 2-0. They followed up yet again in line #2, picking up another straight sets win of 6-2, 6-1 to move themselves to match point.
That match came down to line #5, where
Anna Melnik fought to keep the Patriots hopes alive. In her first set, she forced the match to an extra game, but the Ichabods came away with a 7-5 win. In the second set, Washburn kept their momentum going, taking a 6-2 win and picking up their fourth point for the 4-0 win.
Over on the men's side of the match, the #9 Patriots squared off with #13 Washburn. In doubles however for this match, it was the Patriots who started off strong.
They rattled off two straight wins in line #1 and #2 doubles, as

Joaquin Bianchi claimed a 6-4 win to move the Patriots ahead 1-0 in the match.
Over in singles, the Ichabods bounced back however, as they took wins in both line #3 and #4 by scores of 6-2, 6-1 in both matches to move ahead 2-1 in the match.
From there, the Ichabods kept it rolling, taking a 7-6, 6-3 win in line #2 to move themselves over to match point. In that match point at the #5 line, Wessel battled tightly, but ultimately the Ichabods came away strong with a 6-3, 6-4 straight sets win to claim their fourth point necessary for a 4-1 win.
The Patriots will now head back home to Tyler for a quick break before heading to Orlando, Florida for their final two non-conference matches of the season. There, they play Augustana and St. Thomas Aquinas in a pair of neutral site matches.
