LAST TIME OUT

Last weekend, the Patriots took on the Lone Star Conference tournament, and it was there that the program made their third consecutive semifinals appearance and third since head coach Rebecca Alvidrez took over the program.

The Patriots took down West Texas A&M in their quarterfinal matchup in what ended up being a nailbiter, but the fourth quarter rally from the Patriots was all it took to seal the victory.

In the semifinals, the Patriots took on UT Permian Basin, but the Falcons put together their own strong run late in the contest to hold off the Patriots and move on to the conference championship game.

GOING DANCING AGAIN

This is the second consecutive year that the Patriots were selected to the NCAA Tournament field, the first time that has happened since the Patriots went three straight from 2014-2016. UT Tyler last season put on a magical run, taking down the #4 seed, #1 seed, and #7 seed on their way to winning the NCAA South Central Region Tournament for the first time in program history. That run continued with a trip to St. Joseph, Missouri for the programs second ever trip to the NCAA Elite Eight, but the Patriots fell to #1 seed Ashland who eventually claimed the national championship.

The Patriots are one of five teams in the South Central Region to make the last two NCAA Tournaments, joined by Texas Woman's, Regis, Colorado School of Mines, and Lubbock Christian.
