DALLAS, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler men's basketball team closed the 2023-24 season with a 99-68 loss to #12 DBU on Saturday afternoon.
The Patriots had a trio of contributors in double-digit scoring figures on the afternoon, led by Alex Zambie, who had 13 points. Junior
Bryce Roberts and sophomore
John Barbee each added 12 points to the effort.
DBU pulled ahead early with 51 first-half points, extending a 20-point advantage less than 14 minutes into the contest. DBU led 51-32 at the halftime break and led by as many as 31 in the second half.
UT Tyler shot 44.3 percent (27-for-61) from the field as a team and 10-for-27 (37.0 percent) from beyond the three-point line. DBU pulled down 18 offensive rebounds and turned those boards into 17 second-chance points.
Alec Zambie added eight rebounds and six assists, both team highs, to his 13 point effort.
UT Tyler completes the 2023-24 with a record of 3-25 and a 2-20 mark in Lone Star Conference play.
