Patriots Tennis Set to Open LSC Slate

The Patriots will face off with Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin on the road in their first conference games.

LAST TIME OUT
 
Last week, the Patriots hit the road for neutral site contests in Orlando, Florida and put together one of their best weeks of the year. The two teams combined went 5-1, with the men going a perfect 3-0 while dropping just one point in their three matches.
 
The Patriots women dropped their first contest, but rallied to claim their next two matches to close out the week of a record of 2-1.
 
NATIONAL ATTENTION
 
UT Tyler's men's program ranks #13 in the latest ITA Rankings as released on Wednesday. The Patriots have been ranked inside the top 15 in each edition of those rankings this season.
 
In addition to the team, Joaquin Bianchi and Egor Shestakov are each ranked in singles, with Bianchi at #18 and Shestakov at #43. Shestakov is also ranked in doubles, pairing up with Daniil Felker to be ranked as the #39 doubles pair.
 
On the women's side, Muskan Gupta has lead the way all year long, and tha is reflected in this week's rankings. Gupta is #17 in the latest singles rankings, and pairs up with Allison Schwartz for the #20 ranked doubles pair.
 
THIS WEEK'S SLATE
 
This week will see the Patriots hit the road as they take on Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin.
 
On the men's side for the Mustangs, they are 4-9 on the year and 0-1 in LSC play. They are led in singles by Brendan Lock and Mohjit Grewal, who are each 3-4 in their matches. In doubles, the pairs of Javier Romero / Lorenzo Orellano Buratti and Lock / Alexandre Frigout have led the way, posting a combined record of 3-2.
 
On the women's side, the Mustangs are 1-10 on the season and 0-1 in LSC play. In singles, Livia Leite leads with a 2-4 record. In doubles, Ana Sofia Montero Villegas has been a par of the most successful pairs, going 2-2 in her matches.
 
Moving over to the Falcons, their men's program is ranked #34 in the latest ITA Rankings. Their program is 12-2 on the season and 1-0 in LSC play. They are winners of their last seven in a row.
 
On the women's side, they are 6-8 on the season and 1-0 in LSC play. They have lost their last four in a row after winning three straight prior.
