NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS – Jasmine Haywood and
William Davis ran NCAA Division II provisional marks to highlight the UT Tyler track and field efforts on the final day of the Carl Kight Invitational.
Haywood improved her NCAA Division II provisional mark with a winning time of 54.88 in the 400 meter dash on Saturday afternoon. Davis placed second in the men's 800 meter race, running the 11
th fastest time in DII this season with a school record mark of 1:50.61.
Haywood's time of 54.88 matches the 16
th fastest time in the nation.
Junior
Ashton Turner recorded a pair of top-three finishes in the 110 meter hurdles and the 400 meter hurdles. Turner placed second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 52:56 and third in the 110 meter hurdles with a 14.20.
UT Tyler posted a trio of quality finishes in the men's 200 meter race from
Nathan Williams,
Jackson Crysup and
Nicholas Davis. Williams finished seventh with a time of 21.44, a personal best and just .01 off the UT Tyler school record.
Crysup ran a personal best time of 21.80, good enough for a 17
th place finish.
Isabel Jakobsen provided personal bests in both of her races on Saturday afternoon, finishing third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.60 and 10
th in the 100 meter hurdles with a 14:58.
UT Tyler track and field will return to action on April 20
th at the Alumni Muster in College Station, Texas.
