TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler fell by 7-6 and 11-7 finals to UT Permian Basin on Saturday afternoon.
The Patriots held a 6-0 advantage through four innings of play in game one, but the Falcons responded with seven unanswered runs to overtake UT Tyler in the final innings. UT Tyler opened a lead in the second game as well, but a nine-run fifth inning from UT Permian broke the game open in the Falcons favor.
Senior
Ethan Bedgood became UT Tyler's all-time leader in career hits in game one, producing the 238
th hit of his storied career with an RBI single in the bottom of the third inning. Bedgood was one of six Patriot seniors to be recognized as part of the annual Senior Day ceremony between games.

Nathan Carriere extended his hit streak to 23 straight with 1-for-4 and 2-for-3 efforts.
Game One
A 6-0 advantage wasn't enough for UT Tyler in game one as UT Permian Basin rattled off seven unanswered runs to claim a 7-6 victory.
Bedgood and catcher
Blake LaBuda both had multi-RBI days and freshman
Connor Clark went 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead a UT Tyler offense that managed 10 hits in the game. Starter
Josh Pelfrey went 4.2 innings and conceded one earned run off six hits while striking out a trio of Falcons.
Bedgood and LaBuda put UT Tyler ahead 2-0 in the bottom of the third with a pair of RBI singles. Pelfrey stranded four runners in his first three innings of work before the Patriot offense generated run supported.
A solo homer from Clark in the bottom of the fourth extended the lead to 3-0. Bedgood's second RBI of the day on a double down the left field line made it 4-0 before a two-run homer from LaBuda ran the advantage to 6-0.
UT Permian Basin led off the top of the fifth with back-to-back hits and put their first run on the board with a sac fly that ultimately chased Pelfrey from the game. Sophomore
Bryson Adair retired the final out the fifth inning, but didn't make it through the sixth after the Falcons loaded the bases with their first three batters of the inning.
UT Permian Basin would take advantage of the shaky outing from the UT Tyler bullpen, plating two runs in the sixth and four runs in the top of the seventh to win 7-6.
Nash Villegas was credited with the loss after allowing four earned runs in 2.0 innings of work.
Bedgood finished the game 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI. LaBuda joined Bedgood and Clark with multi-hit outings with a 2-for-3 effort as well.
Game Two
A nine-run top of the fifth for UT Permian Basin provided the difference in an 11-7 victory for the Falcons in game two.
Game two featured three lead changes as the Falcons carried momentum generated from the come-from-behind win in game one into game two with runs in the first and second innings. A two-run homer from
Austin Ochoa in the bottom of the second tied the game, and then a three-run third inning gave UT Tyler a 5-2 advantage.
UT Permian Basin took their second and final lead of the game with the third advantage change of the game after a nine-run top of the fifth inning. Bedgood plated the final two runs of the game with an RBI groundout in the fifth and a sac fly in the seventh.
Starter
Wyatt Wick was credited with the loss despite allowing just two earned runs in 4.2 innings of work. Only two of the 11 runs scored in the ballgame were earned for UT Permian Basin.
Carriere went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and sophomore
Lane Epperson joined Carriere with a multi-hit game, matching his 2-for-3 outing. Bedgood went 1-for-3 with three RBI.
