Patriots Close Out Regular Season with Three More School Records at Alumni Muster

UT Tyler put together another strong day in their final regular season event before setting their sights on the LSC Championships.

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS – UT Tyler track and field posted several top finishes through some adverse weather at the Alumni Muster hosted by Texas A&M on Saturday.

Prior to a rain delay that impacted a majority of the events, the Patriots were able to secure a quick school record as Juliane Frueh booked her name into another school record. She cleared a height of 1.73 meters in the high jump to set a school record and launch herself into ninth amongst all Division II competitors in the country.

In one of the two track events that got in before the rain, Jacob Berryhill and Dylan Navarette posted a fifth and sixth place finish in the men's 5,000 meters. Berryhill ran a time of 15:22.66, while Navarette ran 15:24.84.

The women's discus throw was impacted by a rain delay partially through the event, but Brooklyn House got in a huge throw prior to the delay. She threw the discus 47.01 meters for a new school record and a seventh place finish.

Coming out of the delay, Dustin Earhart took on the men's discus throw, where he placed third overall in a distance of 38.89 meters from his best attempt.

Over on the track, Kailynn Denney got things going with a seventh place run in the 1,500 meters as she ran a time of 4:59.51. On the men's side of the same event, David Soto tacked on a second place run in a time of 3:59.55.

In the men's 110 meter hurdles, Brandon Arenas would place fourth overall in a time of 14.58.

The next event up was the women's 400 meters, where the Patriots put together one of their best events of the day. Frueh finished in a time of 1:01.63 for a sixth place finish, and Isabel Jakobsen ran a time of 59.75 to place fourth. The best finisher for the Patriots was none other than Aerin Thompson, who ran a school record time of 54.30 and took the top spot overall.

Thompson's day was not done, as she later added on a third place run in the 200 meters in a time of 24.27 to be the top Division II runner in the event. In the men's edition of the same event, Nathan Williams ran a time of 21.80 to also be the top Division II finisher on his way to a sixth place finish.

In the men's 800 meters, William Davis would tack on another top five run for the Patriots, as he closed out a time of 1:52.82 on the day to take home fourth.

Ashton Turner would place second overall in the 400 meter hurdles, running a time of 53.70 in the event.

UT Tyler will now set their eyes on the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships in San Angelo, Texas in a few weeks. Those championships will take place on May 9-11th.

Following those championships, if the Patriots have any athletes that qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships, those will take place May 23-25th in Emporia, Kansas.
