LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Patriots competed was back on April 27
th as they wrapped up the Lone Star Conference Tournament. The Patriots entered as the three seed, and went on a magical run that saw them take down #6 seed St. Mary's, #2 seed UT Permian Basin, and then #1 seed Midwestern State on their way to the LSC Tournament title and their second in program history.
THE SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL
UT Tyler has now qualified for the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament for the third consecutive season and has a fantastic track record in their previous two appearances.
In 2022, the Patriots hosted St. Mary's at the Summers Tennis Center and looked near perfect as they took a 4-0 sweep and punched their ticket to the NCAA Round of 16.
In 2023, the Patriots hosted yet again, as they brought Midwestern State to their home courts. Again, they looked strong, as they took down the Mustangs 4-1 to move on to the NCAA Round of 16 for the second consecutive year.
SCOUTING THE CHAPS
Lubbock Christian comes into the competition on Monday with a record of 18-5 on the season. In the LSC Tournament they took down #5 seed Cameron before falling to #1 seed Midwestern State 4-3 in the semifinal round.
The Chaps will make their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA South Central Regional Tournament, as they fell to Cameron last season by a score of 4-0.
They are led by All-LSC selection Martins Abamu who ranks 48
th nationally in singles with a record of 19-13. Their most successful doubles pair consists of Pablo Segura and Herman Aguirre, who are 18-6 overall and 13-5 in dual matches.
On April 11
th of this season, the Patriots went on the road and took down Lubbock Christian by a score of 4-3 to improve to 2-0 all time against the Chaps.

The winner of Monday's match will then move on to the NCAA Round of 16 held in Altamonte Springs, Florida from May 21-25.
