TYLER, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler Athletics Department has announced key staffing updates within its Spirit Program, further enhancing the leadership and development of Patriot Spirit and Fan Experience.
Katie Hutto has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Spirit and Fan Experience, where she will continue to oversee the UT Tyler Cheer and Dance teams while expanding her role to include oversight of fan engagement initiatives and in-game entertainment.
"Katie brings an energy and love for Patriot Athletics that are unmatched," UT Tyler Director of Athletics Sam Ferguson said. "As the leader of our spirit programs, she has done an incredible job. She has also showcased a skillset in engaging fans and students that we have underutilized. We are excited to leverage her energy and passion for UT Tyler to enhance our student and fan engagement. She has already made a great impact in these areas, and we are excited to position her to add greater value to the department and university."
Joining the staff as Assistant Spirit Coach is
Megan Bell, who will assist with all aspects of the Cheer and Dance programs, including athlete development, choreography, and game day coordination. Bell brings experience as both a collegiate dancer and coach, and will play a key role in continuing the growth and excellence of UT Tyler Spirit.
Additionally, Mark Neal has been named Performance & Skills Coach. Neal will work closely with cheer to enhance strength, conditioning, and technical performance, ensuring athletes are prepared to excel in both competition and game day environments.
