TYLER, TEXAS – The UT Tyler Patriots women's soccer team closed out their regular-season home schedule in dominant fashion on Wednesday evening, earning a decisive 4–0 victory over Eastern New Mexico at the Citizens First Bank–Perkins Soccer Complex.
The Patriots came out firing from the opening whistle, taking control of the match just seconds into play. Senior forward Melissa Oliveira opened the scoring less than a minute in, netting her fifth goal of the season only 52 seconds after kickoff. The quick strike set the tone for what would become one of UT Tyler's most complete performances of the year.
UT Tyler maintained constant pressure throughout the first half, dictating possession and generating consistent scoring opportunities. While the Greyhounds managed to keep the deficit at one goal through the opening 45 minutes, the Patriots relentless attack and organization in the midfield ensured the match stayed firmly in their control.
The second half saw the Patriots offense come alive once again. Oliveira delivered her second goal of the evening in the 50th minute, extending the lead to 2–0 and giving the team a comfortable cushion. Just seven minutes later, junior Sarah Hayes added to the tally, finishing a well-placed pass from senior forward Natalie Jones to push the margin to three.
UT Tyler's offensive depth continued to shine as Danica Anaya entered off the bench and made an immediate impact. In the 65th minute, the sophomore forward found the back of the net to make it 4–0, capitalizing on a build-up play assisted by Marin Love and Katie Wong. The goal capped a commanding team performance and sealed the outcome.
Statistically, the Patriots controlled every facet of the game. They recorded 26 total shots, including 10 on goal, while limiting Eastern New Mexico to zero shots. UT Tyler also earned eight corner kicks compared to none for the Greyhounds, reflecting their territorial advantage and sustained attacking pressure. The clean sheet marks another strong showing for a defensive unit that has been one of the most consistent in the Lone Star Conference this season.
The 4–0 result improves UT Tyler's record to 10-2-4 overall and 7-2-4 in conference play, reinforcing their position among the league's top teams. The victory also marks a successful close to the home portion of the regular season, as the Patriots finish 6-1-1 at home this season.
With two goals from Oliveira, she has now tied Ella Anderson for the team lead in goals this season with six. The shutout marks the defense's ninth of the year, and the Patriots have earned at least one conference point in nine of their last ten matches.
Next, UT Tyler will wrap up its regular-season schedule on the road as they take on newly added UT Dallas in Richardson.
