DALLAS, TEXAS – Former UT Tyler men's basketball athlete Matt Riccardi has been promoted to Co-General Manager for the Dallas Mavericks as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
 
Riccardi played for UT Tyler from 2005-2008 and has been the Assistant General Manager for the Dallas Mavericks since 2023. He previously joined the Mavericks in 2022 as a Senior Director of Player Personnel.
 
He was a guard for the Patriots and was named to the American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team for three straight seasons during his career before serving as a graduate assistant for one year following his senior season.
 
Prior to his time with the Mavericks, Riccardi spent over 12 years with the Brooklyn Nets organization, where he served as a Basketball Operations Manager, Scout, Senior Manager of Basketball Operations, and then the Assistant GM and GM of the Long Island Nets before heading to Dallas.

Riccardi will now oversee the Dallas Mavericks basketball operations alongside Co-General Manager Michael Finley. Finley played 15 seasons in the NBA, including nine seasons with the Mavericks.
