PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
  • UT Tyler finished the 2024-25 season 25-5 overall and made their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance before bowing out in the first round.
  • Last season the Patriots finished 13-1 on their home floor, raising their mark to 61-8 under head coach Rebecca Alvidrez inside the Herrington Patriot Center.
  • In the last four seasons (including 2024-25), the Patriots are a combined 31-13 in non-conference matchups, including a 12-3 record at home in non-conference games.
  • Head Coach Rebecca Alvidrez is now 110-53 all time in her four season career, and she is 100-34 in her time at UT Tyler.
  • Coach Alvidrez won her 100th career game on January 30th, 2025 as the Patriots took down Cameron. It took just 148 games for Alvidrez to reach the milestone, and she is now in her fifth season as a head coach.
  • Alvidrez won her 100th game at UT Tyler on November 14th, 2025 as the Patriots took down CSU Pueblo. She took 133 games to reach the feat, and is the winningest coach in UT Tyler program history.
  • The Patriots will bring back just five players, including All-LSC Honorable Mention player Polina Latysheva, along with Mileina SablinskaiteMariah NealKK Bass, and Zionna Barbee.
  • Joining the Patriots will be freshman newcomers Leila DavisHayley CummingMackenzie MitchellGeorgia TomkinsEdit MerivirtaAvery AlcarazJorja Hart, and Salome Svani. The transfer class includes Lilli Hakkarainen and Nikolina Vukcevic as they all look to make a big impact on the Patriots this season.
  • The #20 Patriots are 3-3 through six games while shooting 35.5% from the field and 25% from deep while grabbing 33.5 rebounds per game and forcing 18.7 turnovers per game.
  • Polina Latysheva leads the offense thus far, scoring 11.3 points per game while averaging 3.7 rebounds and leading the team in both steals and assists. Hayley Cumming is averaging 9.0 points per game while leading the team in three pointers and is tied for the team lead in blocks.
 
NATIONAL AND CONFERENCE ATTENTION
 
In the second regular season edition of the WBCA Coaches Poll, UT Tyler moved into the Receiving Votes category. Lubbock Christian is #6, Texas Woman's is #8, and West Texas A&M is #13 to represent the LSC programs.
 
In the Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll, the Patriots were selected #3, trailing only Texas Woman's and Lubbock Christian. UT Tyler garnered eight first place votes in the poll and 761 total points, only 15 behind second place Lubbock Christian.
 
THE 2024-2025 CAMPAIGN
 
The Patriots qualified for their third straight NCAA Tournament last season and their fourth straight LSC Tournament before bowing out in the first round in each tournament.
 
UT Tyler went 25-5 overall and 20-2 in LSC play, narrowly missing out on a share of the LSC Regular Season title. On their way to that record, they also garnered their highest ranking of the Division II era, a #4 ranking in the WBCA Poll in February.
 
THE CRUSADERS
 
Dallas Christian will head into Friday's matchup at 4-2 overall and have won three of their last four games, with only one coming on their home floor.
 
They are scoring 69.7 points per game on 38.8% shooting along with 22.6% from beyond the arc. They are holding their opponents to 59.8 points per game on 35.8% shooting and 24.6% from deep.
 
Four players are averaging double figure points, led by DeMia Jackson, who is scoring 12.2 points per game on 46% shooting and 40% from deep. She also leads the team in the steals category. Myah Coleman leads the team with 8.8 rebounds per game, while Brooke Nails leads the team in assists at 3.3 per game.
 
UT Tyler is 4-0 all-time against Dallas Christian, including 2-0 at home. Both of those home matchups have come in the last two seasons, including a 115-25 win in 2023 that featured program records in field goals made, assists, and steals.
