The Patriots play host to the DII Christmas Tournament this week and will take on Adams State and Fort Lewis in regional action to close out the 2025 portion of the schedule.

SHINING ON OFFENSE
 
Leila Davis has earned this week's Lone Star Conference Player of the Week award, her first of her young career. Davis was instrumental in the Patriots overtime win over St. Edward's, scoring 25 points while adding in 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. She is the first LSC Offensive Player of the Week for UT Tyler since Ella Bradley back in December of 2024.
 
THE DII CHRISTMAS TOURNAMENT
 
UT Tyler will host Adams State, Fort Lewis, and Maryville for a quartet of matchups over December 17th and 18th. Action begins each day at 12 p.m., with Maryville taking on Fort Lewis on the 17th and followed by UT Tyler vs. Adams State at 2 p.m. On December 18th, Maryville takes on Adams State at 12 p.m., followed by UT Tyler vs. Fort Lewis.
 
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
  • UT Tyler finished the 2024-25 season 25-5 overall and made their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance before bowing out in the first round.
  • Last season the Patriots finished 13-1 on their home floor, raising their mark to 61-8 under head coach Rebecca Alvidrez inside the Herrington Patriot Center prior to the 2025-26 season.
  • In the last four seasons (including 2024-25), the Patriots are a combined 31-13 in non-conference matchups, including a 12-3 record at home in non-conference games.
  • Head Coach Rebecca Alvidrez is now 1123-54 all time in her four season career, and she is 104-35 in her time at UT Tyler.
  • Coach Alvidrez won her 100th career game on January 30th, 2025 as the Patriots took down Cameron. It took just 148 games for Alvidrez to reach the milestone, and she is now in her fifth season as a head coach.
  • Alvidrez won her 100th game at UT Tyler on November 14th, 2025 as the Patriots took down CSU Pueblo. She took 133 games to reach the feat and is the winningest coach in UT Tyler program history.
  • The Patriots will bring back just five players, including All-LSC Honorable Mention player Polina Latysheva, along with Mileina SablinskaiteMariah NealKK Bass, and Zionna Barbee.
  • Joining the Patriots will be freshman newcomers Leila DavisHayley CummingMackenzie MitchellGeorgia TomkinsEdit MerivirtaAvery AlcarazJorja Hart, and Salome Svani. The transfer class includes Lilli Hakkarainen and Nikolina Vukcevic as they all look to make a big impact on the Patriots this season.
  • The Patriots are 6-4 through 10 games, scoring 60.9 points per game on 38.1% shooting and 30.9% from beyond the arc. They are holding opponents to just 50.7 points per game on 36.6% shooting and 31% from deep.
  • Hayley Cumming leads the team at 12.8 points per game on 40.2% shooting and leads the team in blocks and total three pointers. Polina Latysheva is scoring 10 points per game while leading the team with 33 assists, and Mileina Sablinskaite leads the team in rebounds at 6.3 per game and in total steals with 36.
 
THE GRIZZLIES
 
Adams State is 9-3 on the year thus far and they are 4-0 in RMAC play. They have won each of their last five matchups, with four coming against conference foes. Their three losses have come against West Texas A&M, Lubbock Christian, and Simon Fraser.
 
The Grizzlies are scoring 66.1 points per game while allowing 59.9. They are shooting 40.9% from the floor and 28.1% from deep while their opponents are shooting 37.2% from the floor and 27.8% from deep. Individually, they are led by Kiiyani Anitielu and Taejhuan Hill. Anitielu is scoring 16.1 points per game while adding 21 assists and 26 steals. Hill is averaging 15.8 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 8.2 per game.
 
UT Tyler and Adams State have never matched up in competition, so Wednesday's matchup will be the first between the two programs.
 
THE SKYHAWKS
 
Fort Lewis is 7-3 on the year and 2-2 in RMAC play. They are coming off of a 78-50 loss to Adams State on Saturday, and prior to that they claimed wins over Regis and New Mexico Highlands.
 
They are scoring 74.5 points per game on 39.2% shooting from the floor and 29.2% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are scoring 71.6 points per game on 42.1% shooting and 35.6% from beyond the arc. They have three players averaging double-digit points, led by Katie Lamb at 13 points per game. She is adding in 13 assists and 22 steals while also leading the team in total three pointers.
 
UT Tyler has matched up with Fort Lewis one time, back on November 29th of last year. In that matchup, the Patriots took a 63-51 win on the road as Latysheva and Sablinskaite combined for 26 points.
