TYLER, TEXAS – On December 13
th, UT Tyler basketball put on Holiday Hoopla, an event that celebrates the holiday season and gives back to the local community.
Thanks to the incredible support of the attendees over the two games for men's and women's basketball, UT Tyler athletics was able to contribute over 100 toys and over 250 non-perishable food items to local charities to help local families during the holiday season.
Those charities impacted included the Children's Advocacy Center of Smith County, PATH (People Attempting To Help), and the UT Tyler Patriot Pantry.
The UT Tyler Patriot Pantry provides supplemental assistance for students, employees, and community members throughout the year. PATH, founded in 1985, serves over 25,000 individuals in Smith County and offers personalized support to connect families with the resources they need.
The Children's Advocacy Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the lives of children who have experienced abuse by coordinating investigative services, medical care, and healing programs under one roof.
Beyond the donations, Holiday Hoopla created a joyful atmosphere filled with laughter, festive activities, and a shared commitment to helping others. UT Tyler Athletics expresses their deep gratitude to everyone who contributed to a meaningful cause this holiday season.
