Box Score 2 ENNIS, TEXAS – UT Tyler tennis took a pair of 7-0 wins over Sul Ross State on Saturday to wrap up a weekend in which each team went 2-0 and didn't drop a point.

The Patriots women would roll to their 7-0 win in dominant fashion, not dropping a single game across their matches on their way to a huge win. That start began in doubles, where the pairs of
Natalia Gorzny and
Emily Ryan and
Elisa Buhagiar and
Luisa Moraes each collected 6-0 wins to put the Patriots up 1-0.
In singles, the avalanche continued, as the Patriots picked up wins in each of the first four lines by scores of 6-0, 6-0.
Kanika Sivaraman, Moraes, Buhagiar, and Ryan each earned wins on the day as the Patriots moved ahead 5-0.
They would add two more wins in the #5 and #6 lines by walkover, as the Lobos did not meet the six player minimum, meaning the Patriots would go on to earn a 7-0 win.

In the Patriots men's match, they would also roll to early wins, taking 6-0 wins in both #1 and #2 doubles.
Arthur Miquelard and
Trevor Short combined in line #1, and
Carlo Kern and
Job Japelj combined in line #2.
Over in singles, the Patriots would earn five more quick wins and one final win in line #6 due to the Lobos only having five players.
Both Short and Kern in lines #3 and #5 earned 6-0, 6-0 straight set wins.
Martin Despodov and Japelj each picked up 6-1, 6-0 wins in lines #1 and #4, and Miquelard earned a 6-0, 6-1 win in line #2 to run the Patriots to the sweep.
UT Tyler will be back in action next weekend at the Summers Tennis Center, where they will host St. Mary's and DBU. Those matches begin on Thursday as the Patriots face off with the Rattlers.
