Patriots Earn #2 Seed in South Central Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – UT Tyler Baseball has been selected as the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA South Central Regional and will host a three-team bracket this week at Irwin Field. This marks the first time in program history that the Patriots will host a regional as a member of NCAA Division II.

The Patriots are currently ranked inside the top 10 in all three major national polls. They sit at No. 3 in the ABCA Coaches Poll, and No. 5 in both the D2 Baseball and NCBWA National Polls. UT Tyler enters postseason play with a 43-11 overall record, including a 40-8 mark in conference play. The 43 wins are a new single-season program record.

This week's regional will feature a three-team, double-elimination format with UT Tyler as the No. 1 seed in the bracket, joined by No. 3-seed Colorado Mesa and No. 6-seed MSU Denver. The winner will advance to the NCAA South Central Super Regional, which will be hosted by the highest remaining seed. That host will be determined between the winner of UT Tyler's regional and the regional hosted by Angelo State, which includes No. 4-seed St. Edward's and No. 5-seed Lubbock Christian.

The Super Regional will be a best-of-three series scheduled for May 22–24. The winner of the South Central Super Regional will advance to the NCAA Division II College World Series, held in Cary, North Carolina from May 30 to June 7.

Ticket information and game times will be announced soon.
