TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler head softball coach
Mike Reed has announced the final two additions to his coaching staff for the 2025-26 season in
Abbie Behe and Claire Cannon.
Behe will become a graduate assistant for the program after rounding out her playing career this past spring with the Patriots. Behe was a big factor in the Patriots 2025 National Championship run, holding down first base while being named to the World Series All-Tournament Team and LSC All-Tournament Team.
Behe is currently working on her master's in criminal justice after completing her bachelor's degree in criminology and psychology. She will oversee the infield and hitting and also play a strong role in recruiting.
Head coach
Mike Reed on Behe – "I am so excited to add Abbie to our coaching staff. She brings high level playing experience along with valuable program knowledge having won a national championship with us last year. She is also an amazing communicator that will make her a great coach and recruiter."
Cannon will join the program as their new Director of Operations after spending the last two and a half seasons with Texas A&M softball in an equipment manager and operations intern role. While with the Aggies, Cannon was responsible for team gear and inventory throughout her tenure, but in the spring of 2025 she assisted with the Director of Operations in team travel, logistics management, practice and facility schedules, and pregame and postgame setup.
She is a 2025 graduate of Texas A&M with her bachelor's degree in sport management. Her role with the Patriots will be primarily involved with gear organization, inventory, ordering, and travel logistics.
Head coach
Mike Reed on Cannon – "I am so pleased to add Claire to our staff. This will be our first time to have a Director of Operations in our program helping support our coaching staff. Her experience and knowledge learned while interning for Texas A&M softball will bring so much value."
