TYLER, TEXAS – Head UT Tyler softball coach
Mike Reed has announced the addition of Lee Kuyrkendall to his staff.
Kuyrkendall has major roots to the east Texas area, where he previously served as the head softball coach at Royse City high school from 2016-2025. There, he led the programto a record of 202-75 and a top 20 state ranking in each of the last seven seasons, and a top 10 ranking in the last six. Additionally, he coached a First Team All-American in 2021 and 2023.

Mike Reed. "He brings a wealth of experience from many different levels and will make an immediate impact in our player development. His mentorship of his players is evident from the former Bulldogs that have become Patriots for us. We are excited to welcome Lee to our staff."
While coaching at Royse City, Kuyrkendall also served as an assistant coach with Texas Glory Softball, one of the premier travel/club softball organizations in the country. He served with the 14U through 18U teams while also assisting in the recruiting process for the players.
Prior to his time with the Bulldogs and Texas Glory, Kuyrkendall served as head baseball coach at Southwest Community College, Mississippi College, and North Florida Community College.
