TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler softball has earned two more all-region selections for the 2026 season, with
Taryn Barney and
Kearston Gooch each earning Second Team honors from the D2CCA.
The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
Barney, a senior catcher from Lewiston, Idaho, earns her second straight All-Region selection from the D2CCA, following up a first team honor last season. She adds this award to an NFCA Second Team All-Region honor given out last week. The senior hit .371 for the year with 14 doubles, 11 homers, 51 RBI, and 39 runs scored.
Gooch, a junior pitcher from Baytown, Texas, earns her first career D2CCA All-Region honor, joining Barney on the Second Team. She finished the year with a 2.30 ERA over 29 appearances. She posted a 13-3 record with four complete games. She also struck out 54 batters and held opposing hitters to a .271 average.
