LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – Taryn Barney of UT Tyler softball has been named to the 2026 NFCA All-South Central Region Second Team as announced Friday by the organization.
 
The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's eight regions with first and second-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2026 NFCA Division II All-America squads.
 
This is the second straight NFCA Second Team All-Region nod and third All-Region selection from any organization for the senior from Lewiston, Idaho. She is hitting .372 on the year with 51 hits, 13 doubles, one triple, 11 homers, 51 RBI, and 39 runs scored.
 
The award follows up an All-LSC First Team honor as well as being named the LSC Academic Player of the Year earlier this season.
