The UT Tyler women's soccer team stayed unbeaten to begin the 2025 campaign, earning a convincing 3-0 victory over Texas A&M International on Saturday evening at Citizens First Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex. With the result, the Patriots improved to 5-0 on the year and 2-0 in Lone Star Conference play while extending their home winning streak to two matches.
It didn't take long for the Patriots to grab control as senior forward Brooke Mullins put away the opening goal less than two minutes into the contest. The strike, set up by a well-placed pass from Natalie Jones, gave UT Tyler an early edge and energized the home crowd.
The Patriots continued to apply pressure throughout the half and were rewarded again in the 37th minute. This time, it was Danica Anaya who found the back of the net for her first goal of the season, doubling the lead heading into the break. UT Tyler was efficient in the first half, converting two of their three shot attempts into goals.
Coming out of halftime, UT Tyler wasted little time putting the match out of reach. In the 58th minute, freshman Ava Harris delivered the third and final goal of the night, capping off a balanced offensive performance that featured three different goal scorers. From there, the Patriots controlled possession and calmly saw out the match.
Defensively, UT Tyler kept the Dustdevils off the scoresheet to record the team's third shutout of the season and have now outscored opponents 10-2 through the first five matches. Goalkeeper Robbi Curry was steady in net, making four saves on the night to preserve the clean sheet — her second of the week.
The stat sheet reflected the Patriots' efficiency. Both teams finished with four shots on target, but UT Tyler converted three of their eight total attempts while limiting Texas A&M International to nine attempts overall. The Dustdevils held a slight edge in corner kicks at 3-1, but the Patriot defense handled each set piece.
Mullins, Anaya, and Harris all played key roles in the scoring column, while Jones provided an important assist in the opening minutes. For Mullins, it marked her second goal of the season, tying her for the team lead in both goals and points. For Anaya and Harris, it was their first goals of the year, further showcasing UT Tyler's offensive depth. On the defensive end, senior Gabrielle Wiebe once again anchored the back line by playing the full 90 minutes. She has yet to leave the field this season and continues to be a key piece in the Patriots' impressive start.
With the win, the Patriots have now tied their best start in program history, matching the 2022 and 2024 teams at 5-0. They will look to carry their momentum into Wednesday's home matchup against nationally ranked DBU.
