PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
  • UT Tyler finished the 2024-25 season 25-5 overall and made their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance before bowing out in the first round.
  • Last season the Patriots finished 13-1 on their home floor, raising their mark to 61-8 under head coach Rebecca Alvidrez inside the Herrington Patriot Center prior to the 2025-26 season.
  • In the last four seasons (including 2024-25), the Patriots are a combined 31-13 in non-conference matchups, including a 12-3 record at home in non-conference games.
  • Head Coach Rebecca Alvidrez is now 117-56 all time in her four season career, and she is 108-37 in her time at UT Tyler.
  • Coach Alvidrez won her 100th career game on January 30th, 2025 as the Patriots took down Cameron. It took just 148 games for Alvidrez to reach the milestone, and she is now in her fifth season as a head coach.
  • Alvidrez won her 100th game at UT Tyler on November 14th, 2025 as the Patriots took down CSU Pueblo. She took 133 games to reach the feat and is the winningest coach in UT Tyler program history.
  • The Patriots will bring back just five players, including All-LSC Honorable Mention player Polina Latysheva, along with Mileina SablinskaiteMariah NealKK Bass, and Zionna Barbee.
  • Joining the Patriots will be freshman newcomers Leila DavisHayley CummingMackenzie MitchellGeorgia TomkinsEdit MerivirtaAvery AlcarazJorja Hart, and Salome Svani. The transfer class includes Lilli Hakkarainen and Nikolina Vukcevic as they all look to make a big impact on the Patriots this season.
  • The Patriots are 10-6 through 12 games and are 6-1 in LSC play, scoring 60.3 points per game on 38.3% shooting and 29% from beyond the arc. They are holding opponents to just 49.6 points per game on 36.2% shooting and 30.3% from deep.
  • That staunch defense is one of the best in Division II, ranking 2nd in scoring defense, 9th in steals per game, 11th in turnover margin, and 12th in turnovers forced per game.
  • Hayley Cumming leads the team at 10.1 points per game on 37.7% shooting and leads the team in blocks, total three pointers, and is second in assists. Leila Davis scoring 9.9 points per game on 48.2% shooting while leading the team at 5.5 rebounds per agme and adding 24 steals and 26 assists.
 
THE HILLTOPPERS
 
St. Edward's is 9-6 on the year and 3-4 in LSC play after dropping their last two games to #7 West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
 
The Hilltoppers are scoring 64.8 points per game on 40.2% shooting from the field and 27.5% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are scoring 64.1 points per game on 38.6% shooting and 30.2% from beyond the arc. Individually, they are led by Suni Davis, who is scoring 13.6 points per game on 36.6% shooting while adding 35 assists and 20 steals.
 
UT Tyler leads the all-time series at 8-3 and have won each of the last eight games. They are 3-1 in games that take place in Austin, and they took a 53-47 win earlier this year inside the HPC in overtime.
 
THE RATTLERS
 
St. Mary's is 9-4 on the year and 4-3 in LSC play. They also dropped their last two matchups to Eastern New Mexico and #7 West Texas A&M.
 
The Rattlers are scoring 60 points per game while allowing 58.4 points per game. They are shooting 40.2% from the field and 31.2% from beyond the arc while allowing their opponents to shoot 35.8% from the field and 29.9% from beyond the arc. Individually, Christin Callens leads the team at 12.3 points per game while shooting 44.5% from the field. She is grabbing 5.3 rebounds per game and has posted 13 assists and five steals.
 
UT Tyler leads the all-time series at 6-4 and have won each of the last four matchups. Two of those have taken place on the road, and the Patriots are 2-2 in San Antonio against the Rattlers all-time.
 
HAWAIIAN NIGHT PRESENTED BY UT HEALTH EASY TEXAS
 
The Patriots will have Hawaiian Night on January 22nd as they host Lubbock Christian inside the HPC. There will be 500 Hawaiian shirts given away along with a student tailgate beginning at 4 p.m. and free food from Hawaiian Bros. Additionally, the ZOOperstars will be performing at halftime of the men's game.
