RICHARDSON, TEXAS – The UT Tyler athletic department set the standard for academic excellence across the Lone Star Conference, as 228 Patriot student-athletes and support staff members were named to the Fall 2025 LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, the conference announced Tuesday.
UT Tyler's total marked the highest number of honorees among all LSC institutions, finishing ahead of Lubbock Christian (210), St. Edward's (206), Texas A&M–Kingsville (202), and UT Dallas (202). In addition to leading the conference in total selections, UT Tyler also showcased elite academic performance with 94 student-athletes earning a perfect 4.00 semester grade-point average, accounting for 24.2 percent of all Patriot honorees.
Overall, UT Tyler student-athletes posted a combined departmental GPA of 3.56 for the Fall 2025 semester, reinforcing the program's commitment to excellence both in competition and in the classroom.
Among individual programs, UT Tyler tennis stood out with the highest team GPAs on both the men's and women's sides. The men's tennis program led all UT Tyler men's teams with a 3.686 GPA, while the women's tennis program paced all Patriot squads with an impressive 3.752 GPA for the semester.
The Lone Star Conference recognized a total of 2,988 student-athletes across the league on the Fall 2025 Commissioner's Honor Roll, including 928 individuals who achieved a perfect 4.00 GPA. To qualify, student-athletes must earn a minimum 3.30 GPA for the semester and be listed on their institution's official sport or support staff roster.
Honorees represented all 19 LSC championship sports, three non-conference NCAA sports, and students assisting in athletic training, athletic performance, and sports information, highlighting the broad scope of academic excellence throughout conference athletics.
UT Tyler's continued success on the Commissioner's Honor Roll underscores the university's emphasis on developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel academically while representing the Patriots with distinction in competition.
