PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 
Leila Davis earned her second LSC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the year this week after a monumental performance against #15 Lubbock Christian. The freshman went for 25 points and 11 rebounds, her third double-double of the year, to lead the Patriots to a big upset win on their home floor. She also added in two assists and two steals while going 11-for-18 from the field.
 
THE LSC RACE
 
UT Tyler sits squarely in the running for the regular season title with 10 total games left in the season. The Patriots are 9-1 overall in LSC play, good enough for one game back in the latest standings. West Texas A&M and Texas Woman's sit at the top at 10-0. The Patriots are the lone team at 9-1, while Eastern New Mexico is just behind at 8-2. Lubbock Christian, Texas A&M International, UT Permian Basin, and Angelo State would make up the current conference tournament field if it ended today.
 
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS

• UT Tyler finished the 2024-25 season 25-5 overall and made their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance before bowing out in the first round.
• Last season the Patriots finished 13-1 on their home floor, raising their mark to 61-8 under head coach Rebecca Alvidrez inside the Herrington Patriot Center prior to the 2025-26 season.
• In the last four seasons (including 2024-25), the Patriots are a combined 31-13 in non-conference matchups, including a 12-3 record at home in non-conference games.
• Head Coach Rebecca Alvidrez is now 120-56 all time in her four season career, and she is 111-37 in her time at UT Tyler.
• Coach Alvidrez won her 100^th career game on January 30^th, 2025 as the Patriots took down Cameron. It took just 148 games for Alvidrez to reach the milestone, and she is now in her fifth season as a head coach.
• Alvidrez won her 100^th game at UT Tyler on November 14^th, 2025 as the Patriots took down CSU Pueblo. She took 133 games to reach the feat and is the winningest coach in UT Tyler program history.
• The Patriots will bring back just five players, including All-LSC Honorable Mention player Polina Latysheva, along with Mileina Sablinskaite, Mariah Neal, KK Bass, and Zionna Barbee.
• Joining the Patriots will be freshman newcomers Leila Davis, Hayley Cumming, Mackenzie Mitchell, Georgia Tomkins, Edit Merivirta, Avery Alcaraz, Jorja Hart, and Salome Svani. The transfer class includes Lilli Hakkarainen and Nikolina Vukcevic as they all look to make a big impact on the Patriots this season.
• The Patriots are 13-6 through 18 games and are 9-1 in LSC play, scoring 59.1 points per game on 38.2% shooting and 29.2% from beyond the arc. They are holding opponents to just 49.2 points per game on 35.8% shooting and 28.8% from deep.
• That staunch defense is one of the best in Division II, ranking 1^st in scoring defense, 15^th in steals per game, 13^th in turnover margin, and 20^th in turnovers forced per game.
• Leila Davis leads the team at 10.8 points per game on 50.3% shooting. She is grabbing a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game and is adding 29 assists, 28 steals, and six blocks. Hayley Cumming and Polina Latysheva are both averaging 9.9 points per game. Cumming leads the team in total three pointers and total blocks, while Latysheva leads in assists and is second in steals with 46.

 
THE LADY BUFFS
 
The Patriots face off with #6 West Texas A&M on Thursday on the road in Canyon, Texas. They are 18-1 overall and 10-0 in LSC play. Their only setback on the year is to Grand Valley State, who ranks #1 in the WBCA Coaches Poll.
 
The Lady Buffs are averaging 78.4 points per game on 44.2% shooting and 32.7% from deep. Their opponents are scoring just 59.4 points per game on 35.8% from the floor and 26.8% from beyond the arc. Three players average double figures, led by Kyla Kane at 12.8 points per game. She is shooting 39.6% while posting 19 assists, 13 steals, and 12 blocks.
 
The all-time series between the two teams dates back to 2020, and it is an even split at 4-4. The two teams split their two matchups last season, with West Texas A&M taking the win in the NCAA Tournament to knock out the Patriots.
 
THE GREYHOUNDS
 
Eastern New Mexico is 12-6 on the year and 8-2 in LSC play. They have dropped their most recent two contests to #6 West Texas A&M and then #11 Lubbock Christian.
 
The Greyhounds are scoring 74.2 points per game while allowing 61.1 to their opponents. They shoot 41.7% from the floor and 33.8% from beyond the arc, while their opponents shoot 38.8% from the floor and 32% from deep. Individually, they are led by Chloe Dallas, who is averaging 13.1 points per game on 60.5% shooting.  Dallas leads the team in rebounding at 7.2 per game and also adds 12 steals and nine blocks.
