DALLAS, TEXAS - UT Tyler Women's Soccer earned four All-Lone Star Conference selections as announced at the season ending banquet on Wednesday night in Dallas.
Ella Anderson was named an All-LSC Third Team honoree. It's the second straight season that the junior nursing major from Anna has been earned the award. Anderson led the Patriots in goals with 6 and points, collecting 14. She is fifth overall in the LSC in shots, eighth in Shots on Goal with 23, and in the top 15 in the league for goals.
Savanna Clark and Arianna Johnson represented the UT back line with two more All-LSC Third Team honors. The Patriot defenders helped UT Tyler to nine shutouts this season. Johnson led the team in minutes with 1262 despite missing two games. The sophomore from McKinney also added an assist early in the year. She played all 90 minutes in nine contests this season. Clark was also instrumental in the defensive success of the Patriots starting every game, logging 1118 minutes this season, which was the third most on the team.
Rounding out the awards for the Patriots, was Danica Anaya, who was named to the LSC All-Academic team. The McKinney native is majoring in Mechanical Engineering while helping the Patriots depth on the sideline. In her third year, she has only started two games but that hasn't stopped her from finding the net five times this season, which is second on the UT Tyler roster and 19th in the Lone Star Conference. Anaya is also tied for second on the team in points and game winning goals.
These all-conference standouts and the rest of the Patriots will face No. 1 seed and nationally top-ranked DBU on Thursday at 5 p.m. in Dallas, Texas, in the semifinal round of the LSC Tournament.
The winner of that match will advance to the LSC Championship, scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. in Dallas.
