BLUE OUT NIGHT
 
Thursday night features the Patriots annual Blue Out Night as the Patriots take on Cameron. At halftime of both games, Steve Max, the Master of Simon Sez, will perform a game of Simon Sez. At halftime of the women's game, faculty and staff are invited to play for a $100 fuel card, courtesy of DK Fuel. At halftime of the men's game, students are invited to play for a 55 inch Vizio TV. Additionally, students are encouraged to go to a pregame tailgate on the Patriot Plaza and sign in through Engage to be eligible for prizes throughout both games.
 
SHOOT YOUR SHOT NIGHT
 
On Saturday afternoon, the Patriots will host Shoot Your Shot Night inside the HPC. During the halftime of the men's game, the Patriots will host a Diaper Derby, presented by Dow Autoplex. Contestants aged 6-12 months will take part in a baby race.


PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
  • UT Tyler finished the 2024–25 season 8–20 overall and 5–17 in Lone Star Conference play, but the Patriots were competitive throughout the year with 12 games decided by 10 points or fewer.
  • Last season the Patriots went 5–10 on their home floor, 3–8 on the road, and 0–2 at neutral sites. UT Tyler finished non-conference play with a 3–3 record.
  • Of the 12 games decided by 10 points or fewer, the Patriots were within a single possession in the final minutes in a handful of those contests and held second-half leads in several.
  • UT Tyler returns four athletes from last year, including LSC Male Athletic Performance Athlete of the Year Sam Phipps, along with Hudson AndersonPatrick Carr, and Mate Kapanadze.
  • The Patriots add four junior college transfers—Chris CarpenterXavier WilliamsSean Emfinger, and Kyle Morgan—each arriving from strong JUCO programs and bringing toughness, size, and proven winning habits.
  • Transfer guard Boston Caldwell joins the Patriots after producing at both the junior college and Division III levels and is expected to contribute immediately.
  • A strong group of Australian newcomers also joins the roster, including freshmen Noah SuarjayaHeath Tenner, and Spencer Gaze, along with Greg Fowlds and Jacob Bell. The group is expected to boost the team's shooting, depth, and overall skill level.
  • The Patriots are 10-10 to start the year while shooting 47.2% from the field and 31.8% from deep while grabbing 38.7 rebounds per game and forcing 12.7 turnovers per game.
  • Sean Emfinger leads the Patriots with 12.7 points per game on 56.7% shooting and continues to be one of the team's top perimeter threat with 19 threes at a 38% clip. Sam Phipps controls the interior with 8.1 rebounds per game and a team-best 28 blocks and adding 28 steals, while Xavier Williams steers the offense with a 62-to-49 assist-to-turnover ratio.

THE AGGIES
 
Cameron is 6-16 on the season and 3-11 in LSC play and are on a 8 game losing streak with their last win coming on January 8th over Angelo State.
 
The Aggies are scoring 76.1 points per game on 44.2% shooting from the field and 35.5% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are scoring 86.2 points per game on 48.9% shooting and 33.8% from three point range. Individually, Michael Jones leads the team at 15.2 points per game on 59.4% shooting from the field while adding in 6 rebounds per game, 18 blocks, and 24 steals.
 
The Patriots are 5-4 all time against Cameron and have lost the last three games. Last season, Cameron took a 78-66 win inside the HPC.
 
THE EAGLES
 
Oklahoma Christian is 9-11 on the year and 4-10 in LSC play. They have lost their last five matchups, with their most recent win on January 15th against Sul Ross State.

They are averaging 73.3 points per game while allowing 72.5 to their opponents. The Eagles are shooting 44.6% from the floor and 33.1% from deep, and their opponents are shooting 44.5% from the floor and 30.3% from deep. Miles Gibson leads the team at 15.9 points per game while averaging 7.4 rebounds and posting 36 assists and 26 steals.
 
UT Tyler is 6-4 against Oklahoma Christian in the series that dates back to 2020. They have won back to back games, where they are 4-1 all time inside the HPC.
