BLUE OUT NIGHT
Thursday night features the Patriots annual Blue Out Night as the Patriots take on Cameron. At halftime of both games, Steve Max, the Master of Simon Sez, will perform a game of Simon Sez. At halftime of the women's game, faculty and staff are invited to play for a $100 fuel card, courtesy of DK Fuel. At halftime of the men's game, students are invited to play for a 55 inch Vizio TV. Additionally, students are encouraged to go to a pregame tailgate on the Patriot Plaza and sign in through Engage to be eligible for prizes throughout both games.
SHOOT YOUR SHOT NIGHT
On Saturday afternoon, the Patriots will host Shoot Your Shot Night inside the HPC. During the halftime of the men's game, the Patriots will host a Diaper Derby, presented by Dow Autoplex. Contestants aged 6-12 months will take part in a baby race.
THE LSC RACE
Texas Woman's stands alone at the top of the latest LSC rankings at 14-0 after last week's games. West Texas A&M is second at 13-2, and UT Tyler is right behind at 11-3 and in solo third. Just six games remain in the conference season, and Lubbock Christian, Eastern New Mexico, Texas A&M International, Angelo State, and UT Permian Basin currently make up the LSC Tournament field.
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
- UT Tyler finished the 2024-25 season 25-5 overall and made their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance before bowing out in the first round.
- Last season the Patriots finished 13-1 on their home floor, raising their mark to 61-8 under head coach Rebecca Alvidrez inside the Herrington Patriot Center prior to the 2025-26 season.
- In the last four seasons (including 2024-25), the Patriots are a combined 31-13 in non-conference matchups, including a 12-3 record at home in non-conference games.
- Head Coach Rebecca Alvidrez is now 122-58 all time in her four season career, and she is 113-39 in her time at UT Tyler.
- Coach Alvidrez won her 100th career game on January 30th, 2025 as the Patriots took down Cameron. It took just 148 games for Alvidrez to reach the milestone, and she is now in her fifth season as a head coach.
- Alvidrez won her 100th game at UT Tyler on November 14th, 2025 as the Patriots took down CSU Pueblo. She took 133 games to reach the feat and is the winningest coach in UT Tyler program history.
- The Patriots will bring back just five players, including All-LSC Honorable Mention player Polina Latysheva, along with Mileina Sablinskaite, Mariah Neal, KK Bass, and Zionna Barbee.
- Joining the Patriots will be freshman newcomers Leila Davis, Hayley Cumming, Mackenzie Mitchell, Georgia Tomkins, Edit Merivirta, Avery Alcaraz, Jorja Hart, and Salome Svani. The transfer class includes Lilli Hakkarainen and Nikolina Vukcevic as they all look to make a big impact on the Patriots this season.
- The Patriots are 15-8 through 18 games and are 11-3 in LSC play, scoring 59.3 points per game on 38.4% shooting and 28.9% from beyond the arc. They are holding opponents to just 50.8 points per game on 36.7% shooting and 28.1% from deep.
- That staunch defense is one of the best in Division II, ranking 1st in scoring defense, 14th in steals per game, 13th in turnover margin, and 23rd in turnovers forced per game.
- Leila Davis leads the team at 11.8 points per game on 51.6% shooting. She is grabbing a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game and is adding 30 assists, 34 steals, and seven blocks. Polina Latysheva is averaging 10.3 points per game while posting 75 assists and 53 steals.
THE AGGIES
Cameron is 2-20 on the season and 2-12 in LSC play, with their only wins coming over Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State.
The Aggies are scoring 58.3 points per game on 35.2% shooting from the field and 30.3% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are scoring 75.2 points per game on 41.1% shooting and 33.8% from three point range. Individually, Madison Griggs leads the team at 18.3 points per game on 39.9% shooting from the field while adding in 3.2 rebounds per game, 36 assists, and 12 steals.
The Patriots are 4-5 all time against Cameron and have won each of the last four games. Last season, they took a 74-53 win inside the HPC.
THE EAGLES
Oklahoma Christian is 9-12 on the year and 5-9 in LSC play. They have won two of their last three games, and most recently took an 82-67 loss to #7 West Texas A&M last Saturday.
They are averaging 65.4 points per game while allowing 64.4 to their opponents. The Eagles are shooting 41.1% from the floor and 28.6% from deep, and their opponents are shooting 38.6% from the floor and 29.2% from deep. Taylor Jackson leads the team at 14.9 points per game while averaging eight rebounds and posting 29 assists and 36 steals.
UT Tyler is 8-2 against Oklahoma Christian in the series that dates back to 2020. They have won eight consecutive games, with four of those coming inside the HPC.
