RICHARDSON, TEXAS – UT Tyler tennis members Hailey Zhang, Malo Poulesquen, and Carel Wessel have been named the LSC Women's Singles and Men's Doubles Players of the Week as announced Thursday.
 
Zhang, a freshman from Plano, Texas, went 3-0 in three different singles lines to help the Patriots to a 3-0 start in Oklahoma. She went to a third set just one time in her three matches, and took straight sets wins against Central Oklahoma and Southwest Baptist on Thursday and Saturday. She also added a 2-0 weekend in doubles, starting her season undefeated.
 
Malo Poulesquen and Carel Wessel combined for the #1 doubles line for UT Tyler on the opening weekend, and delivered two big wins to propel the Patriots to a pair of 7-0 wins. They took a 6-3 win over Northeastern State and a 6-2 win over Southwest Baptist. The pair also each went 2-0 in singles, making them a combined 6-0 to start their season.
 
UT Tyler men's tennis will take on the ITA Indoor National Championships this weekend to continue their year, while the women will host a pair of exhibition matchups at Summers Tennis Center.
