GLOW OUT NIGHT
 
Tuesday night inside the HPC will be Glow Out Night for the Patriots. They will be giving away t-shirts and glow wrist bands prior to the game, and both games will feature halftime performances by the Spyros Bros.
 
The Spyros Bros are masters of the art of Diabolo (Chinese Yoyo). They have performed on America's Got Talent, NBA halftime shows, and NCAA halftime shows with their act of juggling, magic, dancing, and acrobatics.

PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
  • UT Tyler finished the 2024–25 season 8–20 overall and 5–17 in Lone Star Conference play, but the Patriots were competitive throughout the year with 12 games decided by 10 points or fewer.
  • Last season the Patriots went 5–10 on their home floor, 3–8 on the road, and 0–2 at neutral sites. UT Tyler finished non-conference play with a 3–3 record.
  • Of the 12 games decided by 10 points or fewer, the Patriots were within a single possession in the final minutes in a handful of those contests and held second-half leads in several.

  • Transfer guard Boston Caldwell joins the Patriots after producing at both the junior college and Division III levels and is expected to contribute immediately.
  • A strong group of Australian newcomers also joins the roster, including freshmen Noah SuarjayaHeath Tenner, and Spencer Gaze, along with Greg Fowlds and Jacob Bell. The group is expected to boost the team's shooting, depth, and overall skill level.
  • The Patriots are 10-10 to start the year while shooting 47.2% from the field and 31.8% from deep while grabbing 38.7 rebounds per game and forcing 12.7 turnovers per game.
  • Sean Emfinger leads the Patriots with 12.7 points per game on 56.7% shooting and continues to be one of the team's top perimeter threat with 19 threes at a 38% clip. Sam Phipps controls the interior with 8.1 rebounds per game and a team-best 28 blocks and adding 28 steals, while Xavier Williams steers the offense with a 62-to-49 assist-to-turnover ratio.

THE PATRIOTS
 
DBU is 20-6 on the season and 14-2 in LSC play and are on a 5 game winning streak with their last lost coming on January 29th against Eastern New Mexico.
 
The Patriots are scoring 83.4 points per game on 46.8% shooting from the field and 35.4% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are scoring 69.8 points per game on 44.7% shooting and 33.8% from three point range. Individually, Drew Calderon leads the team at 10.6 points per game on 40.5% shooting from the field while adding 28 steals.
 
The Patriots are 1-9 all time against DBU and have lost the last eight games. Early this year, DBU took a 90-79 win in their home court.
 
THE COMETS
 
UT Dallas is 6-17 on the year and 5-10 in LSC play. They have lost their last two matchups, with their most recent win on February 7th against Midwestern State.

They are averaging 75.5 points per game while allowing 79.3 to their opponents. The Comets are shooting 42.5% from the floor and 32.7% from deep, and their opponents are shooting 46.3% from the floor and 32.8% from deep.
