SENIOR DAY
 
On Saturday against Texas A&M International, the Patriots will celebrate Senior Day as they celebrate three seniors in their program. Zionna Barbee, Mileina Sablinskaite, and Mariah Neal will each suit up for the final time inside the Herrington Patriot Center. The ceremony will begin approximately 10 minutes prior to tip-off.
 
THE LSC RACE
 
Texas Woman's has officially locked up the regular season title after starting the year 18-0. West Texas A&M will officially be the #2 seed, going 16-2 thus far. The Patriots are third at 14-4, and Lubbock Christian, Eastern New Mexico, and Angelo State are all tied at 13-5. The final two spots in the LSC Tournament are currently occupied by St. Mary's and UT Permian Basin, who are each 10-8.
 
PATRIOTS NOTES AND TRENDS
  • UT Tyler finished the 2024-25 season 25-5 overall and made their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance before bowing out in the first round.
  • Last season the Patriots finished 13-1 on their home floor, raising their mark to 61-8 under head coach Rebecca Alvidrez inside the Herrington Patriot Center prior to the 2025-26 season.
  • In the last four seasons (including 2024-25), the Patriots are a combined 31-13 in non-conference matchups, including a 12-3 record at home in non-conference games.
  • Head Coach Rebecca Alvidrez is now 125-59 all time in her four season career, and she is 116-40 in her time at UT Tyler.
  • Coach Alvidrez won her 100th career game on January 30th, 2025 as the Patriots took down Cameron. It took just 148 games for Alvidrez to reach the milestone, and she is now in her fifth season as a head coach.
  • Alvidrez won her 100th game at UT Tyler on November 14th, 2025 as the Patriots took down CSU Pueblo. She took 133 games to reach the feat and is the winningest coach in UT Tyler program history.
  • The Patriots will bring back just five players, including All-LSC Honorable Mention player Polina Latysheva, along with Mileina SablinskaiteMariah NealKK Bass, and Zionna Barbee.
  • Joining the Patriots will be freshman newcomers Leila DavisHayley CummingMackenzie MitchellGeorgia TomkinsEdit MerivirtaAvery AlcarazJorja Hart, and Salome Svani. The transfer class includes Lilli Hakkarainen and Nikolina Vukcevic as they all look to make a big impact on the Patriots this season.
  • The Patriots are 18-9 through 27 games and are 14-4 in LSC play, scoring 59.1 points per game on 37.8% shooting and 28.6% from beyond the arc. They are holding opponents to just 51.3 points per game on 36.6% shooting and 27.9% from deep.
  • That staunch defense is one of the best in Division II, ranking 5th in scoring defense, 20th in steals per game, 13th in turnover margin, and 29th in turnovers forced per game.
  • Leila Davis leads the team at 12.0 points per game on 50.4% shooting. She is grabbing a team-high 5.7 rebounds per game and is adding 40 assists, 39 steals, and 11 blocks. Polina Latysheva is averaging 10.1 points per game while posting 89 assists and 63 steals.
 
THE JAVELINAS
 
Texas A&M-Kingsville is 5-19 on the season and 5-13 on the year. They have now lost their last five games and their last win came against St. Edward's on February 5th.
 
As a team they are scoring 54.5 points per game on 39.3% shooting and 29% from deep. Their opponents score 60.8 points per game on 40% shooting and 33.3% from beyond the arc. Individually they are led by Kaycee Groves, who is scoring 11.5 points per game. She is averaging 5.5 rebounds per game and has 61 assists, 44 steals, and 19 blocks.
 
UT Tyler is 7-5 all-time against the Javelinas and won their meeting earlier this season 69-56 on the road in Kingsville. UT Tyler has won six of the last seven meetings and seven of the last nine.
 
THE DUSTDEVILS
 
Texas A&M International is 12-12 on the year and an even 9-9 in LSC play. They have also lost five straight, with their last win coming on February 5th against St. Mary's.
 
They are scoring 64.1 points per game on 33.6% shooting and 28.6% from beyond the arc. Their opponents are scoring 67 points per game on 41.2% shooting and 32.5% from deep. They are led by Jayden Smallwood, who is scoring 11 points per game with 4.6 rebounds per game, 51 assists, and 34 steals.
 
UT Tyler is 9-2 all-time against the Dustdevils, and Texas A&M International took a 57-53 win earlier this season. The Patriots won the previous seven matchups prior to this season.
