PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Samuel Antwi has been stellar in singles and earned the Lone Star Conference Men's Singles Player of the Week award after going 2-0 against #10 Catawba and #12 North Georgia.
Â
Against the Indians, Antwi split his opening two sets at 6-3, 1-6 before battling back with another brilliant 6-3 set to claim the big win. Against the Nighthawks he was even better, ripping off a straight set win in scores of 6-3, 6-2.

With the two wins, Antwi is now 12-0 on the season in singles, with nine of those 12 wins coming in straight sets.

RANKINGS UPDATE
Â
The third week of the ITA Computerized Rankings dropped on Wednesday, and the Patriots moved up to #4 in the men's ranking and slid to #39 in the women's ranking.

Samuel Antwi is now #15 in the singles rankings, along with teammates
Malo Poulesquen (#18),
Artiom Dorofeev (#35),
Daniil Felker (#59), and
Carel Wessel (#63). In doubles, the pair of Wessel and Felker are ranked #10 in the latest rankings.

Yona Bancarel is ranked #9 in singles, and pairs with teammate
Natalia Gorzny for the #17 ranked doubles pair.

THE FALL SLATE

The fall slate was one of the best of the Division II era for the program, with both teams sending players to the ITA Cup. The women's pair ofÂ

Yona Bancarel became the first Patriots women to represent the program at the ITA Cup in the Division II era, and the doubles pair ofÂ

Gorzny and Bancarel finished 2-1 on the week, Felker and Wessel went 1-2, and Poulesquen also finished 2-1.

THE VULCANS
Â
Hawai'i Hilo women's tennis is currently 2-7 on the season and have lost their last four matchups. They dropped their two most recent matches to LSC foes Cameron and Midwestern State.

The women are led in singles by Victoria Ricaurte-Cabas, Johanna Roggenkamp, and Pia Starnecker, who are each 4-3 on the year. In doubles, Ricaurte-Cabas and Anna Takahashi lead the way at 4-3 on the season, all in the #2 line.

The men's side of the program is 4-5 on the season and have lost their last two matches, also to Cameron and Midwestern State.

Max Solano has been strong to lead singles, now 7-1 on the year, all in the #2 line. Jaime Paquet is 6-3 on the season in the #1 line. In doubles, Solano combines with teammate Iori Furuhata to creat a perfect 5-0 pairing in the #3 line.
