TYLER, TEXAS – UT Tyler tennis each picked up their second straight 7-0 win as both teams took down Ouachita Baptist at the Summers Tennis Center.

UT Tyler kept up their strong weekend play in dominant fashion, booking their second straight 7-0 sweep as they took down the Tigers on Monday.
Maria Antonio Ortega and
Paula Castellanos got things rolling in doubles with a 6-1 win in the #2 line, and they were followed by
Yona Bancarel /
Natalia Gorzny and
Sabrina Pugh /
Emily Ryan, who each earned 7-5 wins in lines #1 and #3 to sweep doubles action.
The Patriots were nothing short of elite in singles, winning all six matches in straight sets. Both Gorzny and
Claudia Di Leonardo finished first, taking 64 minutes in their matches. Gorzny won 6-3, 6-1, and Di Leonardo finished a 6-1, 6-1 straight sets win.
The match was sealed with the fourth point just three minutes later, as Bancarel took a 6-1, 6-2 win in the #1 line.
Luisa Moraes added a 6-2, 6-2 win in line #6, making it 5-0 after just four matches in singles play.
Antonio Ortega and Castellanos put the finishing touches on the sweep for the Patriots with Antonio Ortega outlasting her opponent 6-4, 6-4, and Castellanos adding a 6-1, 6-4 win in lines three and four.

The Patriots followed the lead from the women on Monday, cruising to their own 7-0 win over the Tigers.
In doubles the Patriots quickly wrapped up the point as the pair of
Trevor Short and
Samuel Antwi combined for a 6-3 win in line #3 and
Malo Poulesquen and
Artiom Dorofeev combined for a 6-2 win in line #2.
With a 1-0 lead heading into singles, the Patriots put the hammer down, taking all six matches and earning the sweep over the Tigers. That charge was led by
Carel Wessel, who delivered a 6-3, 6-4 win in 81 minutes to double the Patriots lead.
Quickly following him was
Daniil Felker and Antwi, securing the third and fourth points of the match to secure Patriots victory. Felker won his match 6-4, 6-1, and Antwi outlasted his opponent 6-4, 7-5 to put the Patriots ahead 4-0.
Dorofeev would split his opening two sets in line #1 in scores of 6-3, 5-7, but responded with a smooth 1-0 (10-3) win in the tiebreaker to keep the Patriots perfect. Poulesquen survived his own first set tiebreak at 7-6 (7-2), and then followed with a brilliant 6-2 set to move the Patriots to 6-0. That set up the final match of the day, where
Jordi Garcia Portell delivered a roaring comeback after dropping his first set to deliver the Patriots the sweep in scores of 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
UT Tyler gets back to LSC play on Thursday where they take on Sul Ross State on the road at 10 a.m. in Alpine, Texas. On Saturday, they will face Western New Mexico at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Silver City, New Mexico to close out the weekend.
