RANKINGS UPDATE

UT Tyler women's tennis continues their hot play, and continue to climb in the ITA computerized rankings as a result. They are up to #27 in the rankings this week, their highest ranking since week four, when they were #24.

Yona Bancarel paces the team in singles, ranked #10 this week. She pairs with teammate Natalia Gorzny to create the #16 doubles pair.

A TEAM EFFORT

The Patriots women have had a bevy of contributors this season, with four players having double digit singles wins and then six players having at least six wins. Maria Antonio Ortega leads the way at 15-3, Natalia Gorzny is 13-4, Yona Bancarel is 12-3, and Paula Castellanos is 10-5.

In doubles, four different players have totaled 10 wins, led by the pair of Yona Bancarel and Natalia Gorzny, who are 10-6 on the season, all in the #1 line.

THE FALL SLATE

The fall slate was one of the best of the Division II era for the program, with both teams sending players to the ITA Cup. The women's pair of Natalia Gorzny and Yona Bancarel became the first Patriots women to represent the program at the ITA Cup in the Division II era, and the doubles pair of Daniil Felker and Carel Wessel along with singles player Malo Poulesquen represented the men.

Gorzny and Bancarel finished 2-1 on the week, Felker and Wessel went 1-2, and Poulesquen also finished 2-1.

THE JAVELINAS

Texas A&M-Kingsville is 6-9 overall and 2-4 in LSC play. They have won their last two matches, taking down both Western New Mexico and Sul Ross State in their most recent matches.

They are led in singles by Annika Andersson Gomez, who is 14-1 on the season and 5-1 in LSC play, with 11 of those wins coming in the #4 line. In doubles, Guadalupe Tocci and Maya Donkor lead the way with a 8-7 record, all in the #1 line.

THE #25 RAMBELLES

#25 Angelo State is a perfect 19-0 this season and 6-0 in LSC play. They won each of their last two matches by scores of 7-0, but won each of their previous three matches in a score of 4-3.
