INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA – UT Tyler men's and women's golf have each appeared in the first ranked edition of the NCAA South Central Region rankings as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
The women's program is ranked #1 in the South Central Region for the first time in program history. They sit ahead of Angelo State, Midwestern State, Lubbock Christian, and St. Mary's in the second of three total rankings.
The Patriots women are 15-6 overall and 12-2 against in-region opponents. They are 7-1 in LSC play, tied atop the standings with just two matches remaining in their schedule.
The top four programs will make it to the regional tournament to be played at the number one and number two seed home sites. The winners of both of those matches will advance into the NCAA Round of 16 to be played at Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.
The women's program is looking for their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament as a Division II program and their first appearance overall since the 2018 season.
The men's program is ranked #2 in the South Central Region, sitting only behind Lubbock Christian. Cameron, Midwestern State, and St. Mary's make up the final teams in the top five.
The Patriots men are 17-4 overall and 10-2 against in-region opponents. They are 5-1 in LSC play and are currently second in the LSC standings with two matches left.

The men's team is looking for their fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. They made it to the semifinal round last season, their best result in the tournament in program history.
