SENIOR DAY

Friday afternoon after the men's match concludes, the Patriots will host Senior Day for three men's players graduating this season.
Daniil Felker,
Jordi Garcia Portell, and
Carel Wessel are the three seniors moving on this year. Garcia Portell and Wessel have spent all four seasons with the Patriots, and Felker has spent each of the last three.

REGIONAL ATTENTION
Â
The first ranked edition of the NCAA South Central Region Rankings dropped on Wednesday, and the Patriots sit inside the top two on both sides. The women's team is #1 for the first time in program history, while the men are #2 and just behind. There is just one weekend left in the regular season before next week's Lone Star Conference Tournament and then the regional championships take place during the second week of May.

The top four programs will make it to the regional tournament to be played at the number one and number two seed home sites. The winners of both of those matches will advance into the NCAA Round of 16 to be played at Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona. Â

RANKINGS UPDATE

The Patriots men held steady at #6 while the women moved up one spot to #26 in the ITA Rankings.

The men's team has four players ranked in singles, led by
Samuel Antwi at #11. He is joined by
Malo Poulesquen (#22),
Artiom Dorofeev (#35), and
Carel Wessel (#49). Wessel and
Daniil Felker are ranked #16 in doubles, and Poulesquen and Dorofeev are #42.

Yona Bancarel is up to #10, and teammate
Natalia Gorzny enters the rankings for the first time at #47. Together, they are the #8 ranked doubles team.

CONFERENCE STANDINGS

On the women's side, the Patriots are tied atop the Lone Star Conference standings with Angelo State at 7-1. They are looking for at least a share of their first LSC title in program history and with a win over St. Mary's, they can clinch that.

The top six teams will make the LSC Tournament, and Midwestern State, Lubbock Christian, St. Mary's, and Texas A&M-Kingsville would currently make up that field.

On the men's side, the Patriots are 5-1 overall and trail Lubbock Christian, who has taken the LSC Regular Season title with their 7-0 record. The Patriots can wrap up the #2 seed with a win against the Rattlers.

THE RATTLERS
Â
St. Mary's women's team is 12-9 on the year and 5-3 in LSC play. They have dropped three of their last four, with the one win coming against UT Permian Basin on April 10.

The Rattlers are led in singles by Selina Wu, who is 17-3 overall on the season with 13 wins in the #2 line and the other four in the #1 line. In doubles, the pair of Alessia Terlizzi and Gia Posito are the top team at 9-4 overall, all of which in the #1 line.

The men's side of the program is 13-4 on the season and 3-2 in LSC play. They have won four of their last five matches, including their most recent against UT Permian Basin on April 10
th.

Lucas Castillo Sanchez is the top man in singles, now 13-3 on the year with those wins split between the #1 and #2 lines. He also pairs with teammate Victor Velter to create the top doubles team at 7-2. Five of those wins have come in line #3.
