THE LSC TOURNAMENT
UT Tyler put together another spirited run at the LSC Tournament as they looked for their third tournament title in program history.
That run began in the semifinals with a matchup against #3 seed Cameron. They would drop the doubles point, but came roaring back in singles with four wins in the six matches, capped off by a brilliant comeback win from senior
Daniil Felker to punch their ticket to the finals.
In those finals, the Patriots jumped out early with a 1-0 lead after doubles, but #1 Lubbock Christian took four straight singles matches to turn the tide and take a 4-1 win to win the championship.
THE NCAA SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL
This is the fifth straight appearance for the men's program in the South Central Regional Tournament and the fifth straight time they will host a match. This is the third time they have been the #2 seed.
This is the 16
th appearance in the NCAA Regionals in program history, and they have made the final site of competition each of the last four seasons.
The South Central Region is made up of four teams playing at two host sites. The winners of those two matches will then move into the NCAA Round of 16 and the final site of competition at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona. That competition will take place May 20-24.
THE AGGIES
Cameron will head into Monday's matchup at 12-5 overall after finishing the year 6-2 in LSC play and making a trip to the LSC Tournament semifinals.
The Aggies are led in singles by All-LSC First Team Singles selection Lukas Janousek. He is 13-3 on the season and went 7-1 in LSC play, with each of those wins coming in the #1 line. He pairs with teammate Moe Milliard to create a First Team All-LSC Doubles team. They are 10-4 on the season and went 5-2 in LSC play, with all of those matches coming in the #1 line.
The Patriots have taken both matches over the Aggies this season, one coming in the LSC Tournament semifinals and one in the regular season back on April 10.
In that April matchup, UT Tyler took a 6-1 win, dropping just one singles match in a dominant performance.
