UT Tyler Athletics Launches "Soaring to Victory" NIL Initiative in Partnership with Opendorse

(Tyler, Texas and Lincoln, Neb. – 7/9/26) – UT Tyler Athletics today announced a strategic partnership with Opendorse, the leading NIL technology, data, and service provider, to deliver a full suite of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) resources for Patriot student-athletes.

Through this partnership, UT Tyler, who finished 17th in the most recent Learfield Director's Cup standings, continues its leadership and innovation among NCAA Division II programs by investing in a comprehensive NIL solution. Student-athletes and UT Tyler supporters will have new ways to engage through industry-leading tools, education, and direct earning opportunities.

The partnership also serves as the foundation for "Soaring to Victory", UT Tyler Athletics' official NIL initiative designed to connect Patriot student-athletes with meaningful Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities while empowering alumni, fans, businesses, and supporters to invest in their success.

"We're thrilled about the opportunities our partnership with Opendorse and the Soaring to Victory initiative will create for our student-athletes and the East Texas community," said UT Tyler Director of Athletics Dr. Sam Ferguson. "One of the pillars of UT Tyler's Strategic Plan is serving East Texas, and this initiative brings that commitment to life by connecting local businesses and organizations with our talented, marketable student-athletes through Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities. It's a win for our student-athletes, a win for our community partners, and another exciting step forward as Patriot Athletics continues to elevate the UT Tyler brand. This is Patriot progress in action."

UT Tyler will implement Opendorse Deals+, empowering donors, fans, and supporters to directly contribute to NIL opportunities for Patriot student-athletes in a seamless, compliant manner. This enhanced model removes traditional barriers and creates new pathways for the community to engage in athlete support.

Patriot student-athletes will also have access to a custom UT Tyler Marketplace – a branded NIL marketplace where businesses, fans, and sponsors can connect with athletes for a wide range of NIL activities, including social media campaigns, appearances, autographs, and more. The platform simplifies the entire transaction process, from deal execution to disclosure and payment through Opendorse Wallet.

To further support long-term athlete success, UT Tyler will utilize Opendorse Education, delivering virtual sessions focused on personal branding, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. Student-athletes will gain access to on-demand resources, expert-led sessions, and proven programming designed to help them maximize their value both during and after their collegiate careers. Comprehensive education has become a cornerstone of modern NIL strategies, helping athletes build sustainable opportunities beyond competition.

"UT Tyler is making a meaningful investment in the present and future of its student-athletes by providing a complete NIL ecosystem," said Jake Daugherty, Director, Collegiate Partnerships at Opendorse. "By combining Deals+, Marketplace+, and Education+, Patriot student-athletes are equipped with the tools, access, and knowledge needed to succeed in today's evolving college athletics landscape.
