Box Score BROWNWOOD, Texas - The UT Tyler Women's Soccer team opened their weekend with a shutout over Howard Payne University on Thursday afternoon.
In the first of two games this weekend, UT Tyler dominated play in Brownwood. The Patriots who sat at 3-0 entering action on Thursday defeated the Yellow Jackets behind the power of two
Bri Bourbeau goals.
The Woodlands, Texas native put her first career goal in the back of the net off an assist from
Kaycee West. The 32nd minute goal would put the Patriots up 1-0.
Bourbeau picked up her second goal in the 42nd minute. Her second goal was unassisted, giving UT Tyler a 2-0 lead going into the half.
Danielle Lacasse put UT Tyler ahead 3-0 just 30 seconds into the second half. Lacasse played a ball off the foot of
Mariah Harmon to give UT Tyler a 3-0 cushion early in the second half.
The Patriot defense would hold Howard Payne scoreless throughout the final 45 minutes, sealing a 3-0 win.
UT Tyler put nine shots on goal, totaling 21 shots.
Jade Crump turned away five Yellow Jacket shots on goal, earning her first shutout of the 2018 season.
The Patriots return to action against UT Dallas on Saturday, September 15. The match in Richardson, Texas is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.
