TYLER -- The UT Tyler women's soccer team has logged a lot of miles to begin the season and will finally get to play a game on their home turf on Thursday when the Mary-Hardin Baylor Cru roll into town. The Patriots have traveled to Dallas, Georgetown, and even crossed state lines into Arkansas and Tennessee. It was a successful road trip to start the season as the Patriots have started the season 4-1 overall and are 1-1 in the American Southwest Conference.
          Â
They will be looking to bounce back from their first loss of the season after dropping a 2-0 decision to Texas-Dallas. UT Tyler is led offensively by multiple scorers. Senior
Kaelyn Steitz heads the team with three goals on the season, tied for seventh most in the ASC. Junior
Mariah Harmon and freshman
Bri Bourbeau also have multiple goals on the season, both netting two a piece. Harmon also leads the team in assists with two on the year.
         Â
Mary-Hardin Baylor comes into the match with a 3-2-1 record and have opened up ASC play 2-0. They are coming off an exciting 2-1 double overtime win over LeTourneau. It has been a struggle for the Cru on the road this season, still looking for their first win away from Belton. They have one of the best offenses in the conference with 13 goals on the year, third best in the ASC. Senior Madison Link leads the team with four goals on the season while Chelsea Graham and Emily Blaettner have each scored three.
          Â
The Patriots lead the all-time series 10-2-2, but the last few years have been intense. Each of the last three meetings have gone to overtime and the Patriots have not recorded a win against the Cru since 2013. Mary-Hardin Baylor won last year 1-0 in Belton and the two schools tied in 2014 and 2016 (The 2015 match was canceled due to weather).
          Â
The game will take place at Citizens 1st Bank-Perkins Soccer Complex and kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
