PINEVILLE, Louisiana - The UT Tyler Men's Basketball team opened their weekend road trip with a matchup against ASC leader, Louisiana College. The Patriots fell to 6-8 after falling 68-78.
UT Tyler opened the game on a 10-3 run that saw them take control early in the first half. The Patriots pushed their lead to 17 with 8:31 left on the clock, it would be their largest lead of the game. UT Tyler held the double digit advantage throughout a majority of the half, not allowing LC to come within nine points until the 3:30 mark. A pair of late jumpers cut the UT Tyler lead to just three heading into the half.
The Patriots would hold their lead until just over the 18 minute mark in the second half when LC took their first lead of the game. With 1:22 left on the clock, the Patriots trailed by their largest margin of 14 points. The final minute saw UT Tyler come within 10 points but the Patriots were unable to erase the deficit before the buzzer sounded.
BY THE NUMBERS:
UT Tyler went 18-24 at the free-throw line and drained eight balls from behind the arc in the loss. The bench added 24 points while UT Tyler scored 26 points in the paint.

Darius Alford each finished the night with 16 points, combining for 32 of UT Tyler's 68 points. Alford added six rebounds while
Chris Craig recorded a team high 11 boards.
