Ramey Scores 22 in 78-88 Loss to ETBU

TYLER, Texas - The UT Tyler Men's Basketball team hosted East Texas Baptist University in the Louise Herrington Patriot Center on Thursday night. UT Tyler moved to 8-11 after falling 78-88. 

UT Tyler would take the early lead in a tightly contested first half of play. The Patriots jumped ahead 4-2 before taking the lead on five different occasions. A three from Lense Ramey with 4:55 remaining in the half put UT Tyler ahead 31-29. Ramey would give the Patriots the 37-36 advantage on a layup with 1:15 remaining in the half. Through 20 minutes of play, UT Tyler led 37-36. 

The second half saw the game come even at 39 in the first minute of play before ETBU took the lead with 19:14 remaining. UT Tyler kept the game within single digits until ETBU took a 57-47 lead with 12 minutes remaining. The Patriots cut the lead to nine with 4:17 remaining before late foul shots allowed ETBU to take the 88-78 advantage. 

BY THE NUMBERS:
UT Tyler shot 48.4% from the field, connecting on seven shots from behind the arc. The Patriots scored 38 points in the paint while the bench added 15 points. UT Tyler went 11-15 at the line, scoring 16 second chance points. The game came even on four different occasions and saw 15 lead changes throughout. 

UT TYLER LEADERS:
Lense Ramey recorded 22 points while shooting 6-11 from behind the arc. Ramey added six rebounds, shooting 8-15 from the field. Tyrick Bennett shot 9-17 from the field, recording a team high 17 points, scoring 21 points. Darius Alford and Corbin Stephens each finished with nine points.
