RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Tyler Women's Basketball team played their final road game of the season at UT Dallas on Saturday. The Patriots took on the #19 Comets, falling 45-64.
UT Tyler opened the first quarter with 12 points. UT Dallas opened the game with a 21-point quarter, putting the Patriots down nine after 10 minutes of play. UT Tyler would respond with their best offensive quarter of the day in the second quarter. The Patriots cut the lead to four after putting up 15 points. The Patriot defense held UTD to just 10 points in the second, leading to a 27-31 game at the half.
The second half saw UT Tyler put up seven points in the third and 11 in the final quarter. UTD would stretch their lead late in the game with 17 in the third and 16 in the final quarter of play.
Tyressha Blaylock led the way for UT Tyler, scoring 10 points in the loss.
Bianca Valderrama led the way on the glass, hauling in nine rebounds. UT Tyler connected on five shots from behind the arc and went 10-15 from the line. The Patriot bench added 22 points.
UT Tyler will close out the season at home with two games next week. UT Tyler will host Belhaven on February 14 and Louisiana College on Senior Day, Saturday, February 16.
