TYLER, Texas—The University of Texas at Tyler will play a 26-game schedule in their first season as members of the Lone Star Conference and second year of the NCAA Division II transition process.
The Patriots will open the season by traveling to a pair of invitationals at Henderson State University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The Reddie-Tiger Invitational will be held September 6-7 with UT Tyler taking on Ouachita Baptist University, the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, LeMoyne-Owen College, and Henderson State University. At the South Central Classic September 13-14, the Patriots will take on Colorado State University-Pueblo, Southern Nazarene University, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, and East Central University.
UT Tyler will open up their home schedule and the LSC season on September 20
th when they host Texas A&M International University in the Herrington Patriot Center at 6 p.m. Texas A&M University-Kingsville will travel to Tyler the following day for a 1 p.m. matchup on the Patriots' home court.
The remainder of the home schedule includes Lubbock Christian University on October 4, Angelo State University on October 5, Midwestern State University on October 18, Texas Woman's University on October 19, Cameron University on November 1, the University of Arkansas Fort Smith on November 2, and Texas A&M University-Commerce on November 15.
The Patriots enter the 2019 season with Head Coach
Lyndsay Mashe at the helm who will be in her fourth season at UT Tyler. In 2018, Patriot Volleyball finished with a 24-2 overall record and reached as high as No. 16 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Rankings.
The top offensive returner will be senior-to-be outside hitter
Kaitlyn Budisalovich (Cypress, Texas) who recorded 318 kills last season, eighth-most program history. Senior-to-be right side hitter
Loren Guerra (San Antonio, Texas) was second on the team in kills with 259. At the net, senior-to-be middle blocker
Kayla McCoy (White Oak, Texas) was just one total block shy of the team leader a season ago. She recorded 68 block assists which are fifth-most in Patriot history for a single season and nine solo blocks. Senior-to-be
