How It Happened: The Patriots' defense produced another 90-minute shutout, and despite the penalty kick goal, UT Tyler has yet to surrender a goal during the run of play this season. The Patriots, who finished the game with a 17-11 in total shots, put all seven of their second-half shots on frame, but Ouachita Baptist goalkeeper Michele Snow stopped all seven to keep the game scoreless.
Â
Snow added an overtime save on
Kiersten Ehler's shot two minutes into overtime. Midway through the second half,
Carrie Gilliland beat her defender to create a one-on-one chance against Snow, but Gilliland's contested shot skipped just wide to the left of the open net.
Â
By The Numbers: UT Tyler created an edge in shots in each half of regulation, posting a 9-5 edge in the first 45 minutes and a 7-4 advantage in the second half… Ouachita Baptist switched goalkeepers at halftime, with starter Erin Webster making two saves in the first half before Snow made seven saves the rest of the way… Twelve different Patriots registered a shot attempt, with Gilliland taking a team-high three shots while
Kaycee West and
Landri Edwards each took two shots (each put both of their shots on frame).
Â
