TYLER, TEXAS - The University of Texas at Tyler has earned the no. 6 seed in the South Central Region and will face no. 3 seed Colorado Mesa in the opening round of the 2021 NCAA Division II Volleyball National Tournament as announced on Monday night via selection show by the NCAA Division II Volleyball Committee.

The South Central Regional Tournament is set to begin on Dec. 2
nd and will conclude on Dec. 4
th in Denver, Colo. No. 1 seed MSU Denver earned the right to host the entirety of the single elimination tournament as the no. 1 seed in the region.

The Patriots earned the no. 6 seed in the field thanks to a record of 19-3 on the year and a 15-2 record in Lone Star Conference play. UT Tyler is one of three Lone Star Conference teams to be selected into the Division II National Tournament and will be making the program's first national tournament appearance at any level since the program's inception in 2003.

UT Tyler earns a postseason bid in the first year of eligibility at the Division II level after receiving full-fledged Division II status last August.

 The Patriots join no. 4 seeded Angelo State and Lone Star Conference Postseason Tournament Champions West Texas A&M, who earned the LSC automatic qualifying bid with a 3-0 win over St. Edward's in the championship match last Saturday, in the field.
