TYLER, TEXAS – The University of Texas at Tyler women's soccer team will take on their second straight Division I foe in Stephen F. Austin on the road in Nacogdoches, Texas on Friday night.

Game time is set for 7 p.m. and will provide the Patriots with their second of three tune-up games against Division I opposition prior to getting Lone Star Conference play started on Feb. 17 at home against Texas Woman's. The Patriots dropped their 2021 spring opener by a 3-0 final to Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday night, and will look to build off of what was the Patriot's first game action in 452 days.

CECIL SHINES

Camri Cecil shined in goal for the Patriots on Wednesday night despite facing a total of 30 shots throughout her 90 minutes of time in goal. The Lago Vista, Texas native etched her name into the record books with 11 saves, a career high for the 2019 Third Team All-LSC selection, and the second highest single-game total in the history of UT Tyler women's soccer. Cecil is now one of three keepers throughout the program's history to have recorded 11 saves in a single game.

Cecil ranks seventh all-time in the Patriot records book with 90 career saves to her name.

PATRIOTS ON TARGET

UT Tyler recorded eight total shots against Louisiana Monroe, six of which were on goal. Vanessa Bart led the way with three total shots, two of which were on target. Five different Patriots recorded a shot attempt, while Shaylee Anaya joined Bart as the two Patriots to record multiple shots.

SCOUTING THE LUMBERJACKS

Stephen F. Austin played five games in a non-conference fall schedule, but will officially take part in a Southland Conference schedule in the spring semester. The Patriots will stand as the Lumberjacks first opponent of the semester after compiling a record of 2-1-2 throughout the fall.

Katelyn Termini scored in all except one game for the Lumberjacks in the fall semester, notching four goals and an assist in her five games of action. Termini along with Carli Arthurs and Sophia Smith were the three individuals to record goals for the team in the fall portion of the schedule.

COACH WEBB'S THOUGHTS ON THE SEASON OPENER

"It was great to be back out there playing after a year off. It was tough to step into that environment at that speed and have all the details down, so that showed in a few moments of lapse which cost us goals."

"That's what these games are about, though; we got better today and got a lot of our young players some great minutes. We will grow from this and be ready for another tough one on Friday. This group is not afraid of the challenge, and I love that. They feel it now and they know we have to be better."
