UT Tyler Women's Golf Receives Votes in First Division II Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll

CORAL SPRINGS, FLA. – The University of Texas at Tyler women's golf team begins the 2022-23 season in the receiving votes category of the Division II Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll as announced by the organization on Friday afternoon.

The Patriots received 10 votes to join six other Lone Star Conference foes associated with the first national poll of the season. DBU enters 2022-23 as the no. 1 ranked team in the country after receiving 311 points, and are joined by West Texas A&M (No. 10) and St. Mary's (No. 25) as the other two ranked teams from the LSC.

Texas A&M International, Oklahoma Christian and UAFS appeared alongside UT Tyler in the receiving votes category.

UT Tyler narrowly missed out on being selected into last spring's NCAA Division II West Region Tournament after being ranked as the no. 12 team in the final edition of the rankings prior to the 2022 LSC Women's Golf Championships. The Patriots posted the lowest 54-hole scoring total in program history at that event with an 881 (290-298-293) to finish in a tie for sixth place.

Head coach Grant Spencer and his squad will begin the 2022-23 season on Sept. 9-10 at the West Texas A&M Fall Invitational at Tascosa Golf Club in Amarillo, Texas.
