LAST WEEK

The Patriots took on the long road trip to south Texas to battle with Texas A&M International and Texas A&M-Kingsville and came out 1-1 on the other side of that trip. The offense clicked on all cylinders on Thursday night against the Dustdevils and they scored their most points in a game since December 2nd. On Saturday, the Patriots suffered their first defeat of the Lone Star Conference season to the Javelinas in an uncharacteristic shooting and defensive game for the Patriots.

WHAT COACH ALVIDREZ IS SAYING

On the season thus far: "We've been on the road quite a bit, but I think we have been preparing ourselves. I'm proud of our girls being 9-1. To be able to get a split on the road is positive, obviously for our momentum and our culture we want to try and win them all."

On the message this week: "Nothing has changed, just our growth individually as a team. Even with the wins and our recent loss we want to make sure that we don't get too high or too low. It's just another opportunity for us to showcase and to grow and to correct the things we want to correct."

On playing teams like Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M: "In this part of the season we have seen quite a few different styles of teams. We are prepared for a grind with both teams, they are both great defensively. We have to be able to finish the whole 30 seconds defensively."

STILL HOLDING STEADY

The Patriots slipped down to number six this week in the latest D2SIDA South Central Regional Rankings this week, but are still holding steady with the top teams from across the region. Texas Woman's took over the number one spot, with Angelo State, Colorado School of Mines, West Texas A&M, and Lubbock Christian rounding out the top five.

They hold opponents to just 25.3% from beyond the arc, and clean up on the defensive glass, averaging 30.1 defensive rebounds per contest.
